David Spears FRPS
My father had a business selling microscopes, cameras and telescopes in Manchester. My brother and I had cameras from an early age. I took my first photomicrograph on a school microscope in 1963, I knew then that I wanted to make a career in science and photography.
My working life revolved around scientific film making and photomicrography, working on more than 300 television programs, including many insert sequences and documentaries for Channel 4, ITV, BBC, Discovery etc. Many of my photographs in my gallery reflect my interest in this field.
