Our programme for 2025/26 is divided into eight modules, each focused on a particular area of photography and aimed at appealing to everyone from camera phone users to those with bags of kit. The first session of every module is a talk by a key speaker, and then in the subsequent weeks we explore the theme in further depth by way of practical sessions, peer reviews and discussions, in a fun, relaxed and enjoyable environment. In the Judge’s Review evenings Members of all abilities are invited to submit images for critique and advice to further refine their skills. There is always an Open category for those who prefer to submit images not related to the theme of the current module.
“Photography is a love, passion, joy… obsession – long may it continue.”
Mike describes himself as “a hobbyist photographer and keen club member; competitive and sometimes creative, but always hungry to learn or to help others. He admits he lacks the patience for Landscape photography, but he keeps trying. He loves “urban photos, architecture, plants, beasts and bugs, trees, infrared, night, creative, manipulated images – basically anything.” He was late venturing into Portraiture but has now worked with over 8 models. He organises studio sessions for his local club and volunteers with the local Photographers with Disabilities group. He heads the judging for the National Photographic Society monthly competitions.
Closing date for ‘Documentary’ entries.
